Learning at PSIHS
No subject lives only on the timetable here. Lessons are built on doing — questions, examples, practice, and explaining ideas in your own words. From Grade 8, learners build the study habits that carry them to Matric: planning their work, understanding rather than memorising, and walking into every exam prepared.
Your stream, your future
Choosing your stream in Grade 10
From Grade 10, learners choose between two named streams:
| Stream | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Pure Science | Mathematics · Physical Science — the university-gateway mix for medicine, engineering and BSc fields |
| General | A broad, real-world subject mix that keeps every post-school door open |
The matric years
In Grades 10–12 the focus shifts to depth: mastering content, practising past papers, and walking into the National Senior Certificate exams prepared. Learners rewriting NSC subjects part-time can join the Grade 12 Upgrader programme — R600 per subject per month.
